REDLANDS COLLEGE - The story of a Queensland School
By Robert Marriott
This book provides the reader with an understanding of the foundations and ethos of Redlands College.
For alumni, past parents and staff, it will invoke memories of events and the people who shared in their College experiences. It will explain the reasons behind the Redlands’ way of doing things and it may answer some questions that have been wondered about for some time.
It includes some of the prehistory, beginnings and development of Redlands College, during its first twenty-five years. Primary sources have formed the backbone of the historiographical process used and, as such, there are a number of omitted events, which were not found in original documents and which could not be accurately verified and/or dated.
Note from the author:
For the first twenty-five years of Redlands College, it was my privilege to work within a College community where I often saw and experienced endeavours to place the needs of its students first. To achieve this, attempts were made to promote, where possible, love and peace above black-hearted fear. In many ways, the students and teachers then taught the College community to focus on hope and to see the sky between the branches.
