SCHOOL HOLIDAY WRITING AND ART WORKSHOPS WITH ELAINE OUSTON - CQ LOCATIONS WILL BE ANOUNCED BEFORE THE NEXT HOLIDAYS.

Bring your children and teens to these workshops and help them develop their art and writing interest and skills so they are never bored. 

​The programs are designed to keep them engaged, having fun, and learning. 

No more bored kids!! A creative child is never bored.

PICTURE BOOK WORKSHOP

Students will receive fun writing tasks based around story structure, developing a character and story development. Then  they will draw the pages and set up the book.

Both writing and drawing tasks will be included. They will have a complete picture book to take home. 


​The program is designed to keep them engaged, having fun, and learning. 
 
The workshops will be held in our Workshop Room and an enclosed outside garden area at the back of the premises. This will also be used for meal times. They will be supervised at all times by the instructor and Gondor staff. Parents are welcome to drop in to meet the staff and check out the premises before the events.
 

Workshop program:

From 8:30am: Drop off time. Children will be supervised from the start.

​
3.30pm: Sharing our story or drawings. Parents are welcome to attend. 

4pm: Pick up time.


Materials - what to bring:

Pencil case with pencils, erasers, sharpener, crayons or colour pencils. Please, no felt pens. They are not suitable for this project. 

A note book or drawing pad, an imagination and a desire to have fun with words and pictures.

Writing handouts will be provided.


​Please remember to pack a full morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea for your child, plus a water bottle.

Please notify staff of any food allergies or intolerances and ensure all medications and Epipens are provided to the workshop presenter on the day if needed.

Please, no electronic devices. We will be writing, creating, and playing the old fashioned way! All mobile phones will be taken for safe keeping and switched off during class times, but students will be allowed to check them during breaks. In an emergency, contact can be made on 0417 351 717.


Location: To be advised. Coming to CQ and the Capricorn Coast. ​

Limited places: If your child wants to bring a friend along, please make sure they sign up together to ensure both children secure their spots.
 

Cost $40 per child per day. 

All presenters and staff have Blue Cards and public liability insurance.

DRAWING AND CREATING A 3D PICTURE IN CLAY ​

For children who love art, spend a fun day drawing a scene and creating a 3D image in clay.

Materials - what to bring:

A drawing pad, an imagination and a desire to have fun drawing and working with clay.

After the workshop the clay piece will be fired to make it strong. 

​Please remember to pack a full morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea for your child, plus a water bottle.

 With a diploma in Graphic Art and a Masters Degree in Creative Writing, Elaine Ouston will guide the students in writing and art.

​She is a published author of several books for children including chapter and picture books and middle-grade novels. 

Elaine's books are available from the Morris Publishing Australia website, her author website or your nearest book store.
