WRITERS' BOOTCAMP

DEVELOPING YOUR STORY INTO A BESTSELLER
Instructor: Elaine Ouston

You will receive an evaluation on your writing and a workshop and exercises to help you develop your story.

We will be examining the construction of a few best sellers and learning what it was that made them that way.

Bestselling novels and appear in all genres. In the juvenile fiction category, Harry Potter and Game of Thrones come to mind. In the adult category, The Godfather, Gone With the Wind, and The Thorn Birds are just a few. No matter what you are writing, children's fiction, romance, or adult fiction, you have one goal; to write a book that the reader can't stop reading until the end and everyone will want to buy.

Evaluation: If you have a work-in-progress, please send the first 10 pages of your manuscript for an appraisal so I can let you know what you need to focus on during the workshop.

In this intensive workshop, we will examine the 7 important technical aspects of writing a best seller:

1. Larger than life characters

2. High Stakes

3. A Dramatic Question

4. High Emotion

5. High Concept

6. Multiple Points of View

7. An Intriguing Setting

The workshop will equip you with tools and techniques to support your writing and turn it into an exciting narrative.

See the program below for more details.

This is a hands-on course for all writers. You will  go away with ways to make your writing sing.
